Founded in the United States in 1985, Restek is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of gas chromatography, columns and accessories, and one of the world’s top five integrated manufacturers of chromatography products. Today, Restek operates subsidiaries around the world, a truly international chromatography company.
In 1985, Restek fabricated their first fused silica capillary column in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Since then, we’ve developed thousands of GC columns, enabling analysis of more than 12,000 different compounds. Our Rxi series fused silica columns have long service life and ultra low bleed with consistent performance, ultra high alertness, and much improved column to column reproducibility.
In 1993, Restek launched the MXT column, which was chosen by NASA for its Rosetta Comet Probe. It performed flawlessly detecting trace substances and maintaining data integrity for over 11 years in space. Restek also offers a comprehensive lineup of GC accessories supporting every stage of your workflow. While leading the way in gas chromatography, we’ve also developed a robust line of liquid chromatography columns. In 2005, we introduced the industry’s first biphenyl stationary phase. In 2013, we launched our Raptor core shell column series. And we didn’t stop there. Restek provides a full range of LC accessories. We were the first to introduce air sampling cans treated with Siltek’s ultra inert coating.
In addition, Restek offers advanced air sampling bags, sample preparation products, and certified reference materials. Backed by decades of research and data, Restek created a suite of free online tools; the chromatogram modeler, and the method translator, empowering scientists to develop and optimize GC and LC methods with ease. Every Restek product reflects deep R&D expertise and is manufactured in our own facilities in the US and Germany. With ISO 9001 certification, we strictly implement international standards. Each capillary column has undergone strict QC testing separately and generated an individual report.

Restek has also gained wide recognition internationally with its professional services, and is 100% employee owned, which helps foster a more responsible, passionate, and creative environment. Starting in 2009, we expanded globally opening offices in Japan, followed by China in Italy.
