Da eine Vielzahl von chemischen Verbindungen identifiziert werden m\u00fcssen, sind S\u00e4ulen mit mittlerer Polarit\u00e4t, wie z. B. S\u00e4ulen vom Typ \u201e5\u201c, eine h\u00e4ufige Wahl f\u00fcr die   Arzneimittelanalyse. Silarylenpolymere sind strukturell modifizierte 5er-Phasen, die eine verbesserte thermische Stabilit\u00e4t bieten, was eine &#8220;5-Sil&#8221;-S\u00e4ule zur perfekten Wahl f\u00fcr eine l\u00e4ngere Lebensdauer und eine konstante Leistung mit einem Massenspektrometer macht. Bei der Analyse solch eines breiten Spektrums an Bet\u00e4ubungsmitteln zeigen einige Wirkstoffklassen ungew\u00fcnschte Effekte, wie Peaktailing oder schwankende Retentionszeiten. Dies kann die Identifizierung erschweren. Saure Verbindungen (z. B. Barbiturate) neigen zu einer ungleichm\u00e4\u00dfigen Verteilung zwischen mobiler und station\u00e4rer Phase in der GC-S\u00e4ule. Grund daf\u00fcr sind starke Wechselwirkungen zwischen den schwach sauren N\u2013H-Gruppen der Barbituratmolek\u00fcle und den Silanolgruppen (\u2013Si\u2013OH) auf der Oberfl\u00e4che der kapillaren S\u00e4ule. Andere Arzneimittel weisen basische Funktionalit\u00e4ten auf (z. B. Amine). Auch hier k\u00f6nnen sich Wasserstoffbr\u00fcckenbindungen mit der Oberfl\u00e4che bilden, die die Verteilung zwischen station\u00e4rer und mobiler Phase verz\u00f6gern oder dazu f\u00fchren, dass manche Analyten vollst\u00e4ndig adsorbiert werden. Werden die Oberfl\u00e4chen-Silanol-Wechselwirkungen unterbunden, k\u00f6nnen forensische Labore bessere Ergebnisse f\u00fcr problematische Verbindungen mit vielen Funktionalit\u00e4ten erzielen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Um die Auswirkungen von Silanolen zu minimieren, hat Restek eine Next-Gen-TriMax-Deaktivierung entwickelt, die in allen RMX-S\u00e4ulen verwendet wird.
