Restek accepted the \u201cThe Trailblazers\u2013Team Award\u201d in front of 3,000 people during the IFS World Conference on October 9 in Boston, MA, for its innovative implementation of IFS Applications software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a wonderful recognition for a team that worked very hard over the last three years,\u201d said Nathan Gerst, Restek operations project manager, who accepted the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IFS Applications is a cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that helps businesses integrate data and processes across multiple departments and locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three years ago, Restek determined that its ERP software could no longer be customized or expanded and created a team tasked with finding an ERP solution that would work as well for today\u2019s Restek as it would for tomorrow\u2019s. Fortunately, the team discovered a good fit with IFS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Countless conversations were had throughout the company to understand needs and pain points, but also to learn what was currently working well in addition to what people wanted to see in a new system. By combining all this feedback, the Restek ERP team was able to adopt IFS\u2019s project methodology and change business processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe team worked tirelessly out of one room for 18 months,\u201d Gerst said. \u201cWe all bonded very closely, and in the end were able to come together as a team to serve our customers better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, after its introduction in June, Restek is using IFS 100 percent domestically, with a plan for global rollout underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat started as a seemingly straightforward journey years ago faced countless challenges from day one. Only after assessing those challenges, planning for them, and finding and creating solutions, did the Restek ERP team deliver what they\u2019d always dreamed of\u2014an ERP that could work for Restek today and support us into the future,\u201d Gerst said. \u201cThank you to IFS, and to those at Restek who supported this work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
