Because these standards are very volatile and are more sensitive to temperature and agitation than nonvolatile standards, rigorous mixing and agitation should be avoided. Additionally, it is important to allow the standard to equilibrate to room temperature organically without heating the ampul to avoid evaporative loss of the standard.
