The easiest way to install a packed column into a capillary column injection port is to use a \u201cpigtail\u201d set-up. All that is needed is a short piece of deactivated 0.53 mm ID MXT guard column tubing (which can be cut from cat.# 70045<\/a>), appropriate compression unions (reducing or straight-through) and appropriate ferrules. For example, for 1\/8″ packed columns, reducing union 23168<\/a> along with ferrules 20202<\/a> (for the 0.53 mm ID MXT column segment) is all that is needed.
