Du fait de leur structure, les HAP n\u00e9cessitent le mode d\u2019analyse d\u2019ions sp\u00e9cifiques (SIM pour &#8220;selected ion monitoring&#8221;) le plus sensible et s\u00e9lectif pour une analyse en GC-MS. En effet, ils s\u2019ionisent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement sans fragmentation significative dans des conditions normales d\u2019ionisation \u00e9lectronique, produisant de forts signaux ioniques mol\u00e9culaires. Cela permet de convertir facilement une analyse de compos\u00e9 semi-volatil existante, comme l\u2019U.S. EPA 8270D effectu\u00e9e normalement avec un balayage complet, en analyse SIM capable de d\u00e9tecter des concentrations de HAP encore plus faibles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019analyse des HAP en GC-MS pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e ici montre les avantages d\u2019un passage d\u2019une colonne classique (Rxi-5Sil MS de 30 m, 0,25 mm, 0,25 \u03bcm) vers une colonne plus courte et plus efficace pour obtenir les m\u00eames s\u00e9parations en moins de temps (Rxi-5Sil MS de 20 m, 0,15 mm, 0,15 \u03bcm). Optimis\u00e9s gr\u00e2ce aux dimensions r\u00e9duites, les param\u00e8tres de m\u00e9thode pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s ci-dessous garantissent un profil d\u2019\u00e9lution identique \u00e0 celui d\u2019une colonne traditionnelle. Pour les instruments Agilent 6890 et 7890 avec des fours de 120 V incapables de fournir les vitesses de mont\u00e9e en temp\u00e9rature n\u00e9cessaires pour ce type d&#8217;analyses, le kit &#8220;Oven Accelerator&#8221; de Restek a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer la mont\u00e9e en temp\u00e9rature sans modification mat\u00e9rielle ou logicielle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comme le montre le chromatogramme, cette analyse des HAP par GC-MS donne une bonne r\u00e9solution des pics et une r\u00e9ponse m\u00eame \u00e0 0,05 ng &#8220;on-column&#8221; pour une analyse de 15 minutes seulement. Pour toutes les analyses de HAP \u00e0 faible concentration, il faut prendre soin d\u2019att\u00e9nuer les train\u00e9es de pics provoqu\u00e9es par des temp\u00e9ratures de MS trop faibles ou par l\u2019utilisation d\u2019une source dont les pi\u00e8ces ne sont pas optimis\u00e9es pour l\u2019application. Par exemple, il est recommand\u00e9 d\u2019utiliser dans ce cas une lentille d\u2019extracteur de 9 mm au lieu de la version standard de 3 mm. \u00c0 noter qu\u2019\u00e0 des concentrations particuli\u00e8rement faibles, l\u2019\u00e9talonnage peut n\u00e9cessiter un ajustement alternatif mais les essais internes montrent que les exigences de l\u2019\u00e9talonnage de la m\u00e9thode
