De nombreux pays dans l\u2019Union Europ\u00e9enne ainsi que le Canada ont interdit l\u2019utilisation d\u2019antibiotiques \u00e0 des fins non th\u00e9rapeutiques, et les \u00c9tats-Unis d\u00e9finissent une politique visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire l\u2019utilisation d\u2019antibiotiques m\u00e9dicalement importants pour stimuler la croissance. Afin de r\u00e9glementer l\u2019usage appropri\u00e9 des antibiotiques v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaires, la FDA aux \u00c9tats-Unis a fix\u00e9 des limites maximales pour les r\u00e9sidus (MRL \u2013 &#8220;Maximum Residue Limits&#8221;) pour diff\u00e9rents tissus animaux et produits alimentaires (21 CFR Part 556).
