Per tutti i composti sono stati ottenuti limiti di rilevabilit\u00e0 strumentale nell\u2019ordine del singolo o sub-picogrammo, a eccezione dell\u2019acido benzoico (14,70 pg) e del 2,4-dinitrofenolo (11,53 pg). L\u2019errore standard relativo percentuale (RSE%) della curva di calibrazione \u00e8 risultato \u2264 20% per tutti i composti; gli intervalli di calibrazione erano compresi tra 1\u20131000 ppb e 10\u20131000 ppb, a eccezione dell\u2019acido benzoico, per il quale l\u2019intervallo era 50\u20131000 ppb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Introduzione<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I laboratori di analisi ambientali analizzano abitualmente i composti organici semivolatili (SVOC) mediante GC-MS o GC-MS\/MS, seguendo metodiche quali il Metodo EPA 8270E. I laboratori adottano sempre pi\u00f9 spesso metodi GC-MS\/MS, perch\u00e9 la migliore selettivit\u00e0 del detector consente analisi pi\u00f9 sensibili, come quelle richieste dal Metodo EPA 3511 basato sulla microestrazione, che permette di ridurre i tempi analitici e il consumo di solvente rispetto ai metodi tradizionali di preparazione del campione, che possono richiedere fino a un litro di campione. Per sfruttare appieno i benefici della sensibilit\u00e0 dell\u2019MS\/MS, la colonna analitica deve essere altamente inerte, al fine di massimizzare il rapporto segnale\/rumore dei picchi. Una deattivazione della colonna efficace e di ampio spettro \u00e8 essenziale per garantire buone prestazioni complessive del metodo su un\u2019ampia variet\u00e0 di composti, caratterizzati da chimiche diverse e da meccanismi di interazione differenti con eventuali siti attivi presenti sulla superficie della colonna. In questo studio viene effettuata una valutazione indipendente delle prestazioni analitiche di una colonna RMX-5Sil MS su un\u2019ampia gamma di semivolatili in tracce, compresi composti noti per essere particolarmente critici. Le prestazioni cromatografiche e gli intervalli di calibrazione sono stati esaminati per valutare l\u2019idoneit\u00e0 della colonna al raggiungimento di limiti di rilevabilit\u00e0 a livello di picogrammo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Studio Sperimentale<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparazione degli Standard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gli standard di calibrazione multicomponente sono stati preparati in cloruro di metilene su un intervallo di concentrazione 1\u20131000 ppb (11 punti), utilizzando standard di riferimento disponibili in commercio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Condizioni Strumentali<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I campioni sono stati analizzati utilizzando una colonna RMX-5Sil MS da 30 m, ID 0,25 mm, 0,25 \u03bcm (n\u00b0 cat. 17323). Per valutare l\u2019inerzia della colonna, lo scodamento dei picchi \u00e8 stato misurato agli estremi inferiore e superiore dell\u2019intervallo lineare di calibrazione per composti acidi e basici notoriamente particolarmente problematici. Come mostrato in Figura 2, la superficie inerte ha ridotto al minimo l\u2019attivit\u00e0 superficiale a basse concentrazioni e massimizzato la simmetria dei picchi, consentendo un\u2019integrazione semplice e accurata, anche nel caso di composti difficili analizzati a basse concentrazioni. Inoltre, la superficie non ha mostrato effetti negativi sulla selettivit\u00e0 del polimero, come dimostrato dalla buona separazione della coppia di idrocarburi policiclici aromatici (IPA) a eluizione ravvicinata, benzo(b)fluorantene e benzo(k)fluorantene, a 1 ppb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<style>.kb-image86361_9283bd-aa L\u2019errore standard relativo percentuale della curva di calibrazione \u00e8 risultato \u226420% per tutti i composti, soddisfacendo gli obiettivi di qualit\u00e0 dei dati previsti per la calibrazione. Inoltre, per un sottoinsieme rappresentativo di semivolatili \u00e8 stato determinato il coefficiente R2, che \u00e8 risultato \u2265 0,99 per tutti i composti valutati. Per tutti i semivolatili, gli intervalli di calibrazione erano compresi tra 1\u20131000 ppb e 10\u20131000 ppb, a eccezione dell\u2019acido benzoico, per il quale l\u2019intervallo era 50\u20131000 ppb. Un intervallo lineare leggermente pi\u00f9 elevato per l\u2019acido benzoico non \u00e8 un risultato inatteso, poich\u00e9 tale composto non si solubilizza efficacemente nelle fasi di tipo 5. Infine, sono stati ottenuti limiti di rilevabilit\u00e0 strumentale molto bassi, pari a livelli nell\u2019ordine del singolo o sub-picogrammo per tutti i semivolatili, a eccezione dell\u2019acido class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusioni<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Questo studio ha confermato l\u2019idoneit\u00e0 delle colonne RMX-5Sil MS per l\u2019analisi dei semivolatili in tracce (ordine di pochi ppb) mediante GC-MS\/MS. Nel complesso, la colonna ha dimostrato inerzia per un\u2019ampia gamma di composti chimici (acidi, basici e neutri), producendo eccellenti curve di calibrazione lineari. La forma e la simmetria dei picchi sono risultate ottimali anche a basse concentrazioni, condizioni nelle quali i composti attivi risultano particolarmente difficili da analizzare.
