I metodi basati su spettrometria di massa, come il Metodo EPA 8270, rappresentano un approccio ampiamente utilizzato per l\u2019analisi e offrono agli analisti la flessibilit\u00e0 di scegliere la strumentazione pi\u00f9 idonea per ottenere i limiti di rilevazione pi\u00f9 bassi possibili tramite MS.<br>Alcuni laboratori possono optare per una strumentazione ad alta sensibilit\u00e0, come la<br>GC-MS\/MS, oppure utilizzare la GC-MS in modalit\u00e0 SIM (monitoraggio di ioni specifici), mentre altri possono preferire metodi di scansione tradizionali. I metodi SIM e scan possono generalmente essere eseguiti sullo stesso strumento: i metodi in scan sono semplici e versatili, poich\u00e9 acquisiscono segnali su un ampio intervallo di masse dei composti, mentre la modalit\u00e0 SIM consente una maggiore sensibilit\u00e0 per ioni specifici in finestre temporali di ritenzione definite. I metodi SIM sono in genere pi\u00f9 complessi da impostare e mantenere; tuttavia, man mano che i laboratori esplorano strategie per abbassare i limiti di rilevazione, la GC-MS in modalit\u00e0 SIM pu\u00f2 essere considerata un\u2019alternativa alla GC-MS\/MS, senza la necessit\u00e0 di prevedere l\u2019acquisto di una nuova strumentazione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In questo studio sono state definite le condizioni per l\u2019analisi GC-MS dei semivolatili sia in modalit\u00e0 scan sia in modalit\u00e0 SIM, al fine di offrire ai laboratori un flusso di lavoro in scan semplice e robusto, insieme a un\u2019alternativa SIM ad alta sensibilit\u00e0 alla GC-MS\/MS (Figura 1). Per entrambi i metodi \u00e8 stata selezionata una colonna RMX-5Sil MS, poich\u00e9 offre la selettivit\u00e0 5sil standard abbinata a una deattivazione TriMax di nuova generazione, che si \u00e8 dimostrata efficace nel garantire un percorso di flusso del campione eccezionalmente inerte [1,2]. Come mostrato in Figura 1, l\u2019asimmetria dei picchi ha soddisfatto in modo costante gli obiettivi di qualit\u00e0 (\u2264 2) per analiti chiave quali benzidina, pentaclorofenolo e 2,4-dinitrofenolo. Inoltre, i criteri di risoluzione (&gt; 50%) sono stati facilmente soddisfatti per IPA particolarmente critici, con una valle tra benzo[b]fluorantene e benzo[k]fluorantene superiore al 94%, e una valle tra indeno[1,2,3-cd]pirene e dibenz[a,h] antracene superiore al 95%. Utilizzando una colonna RMX-5Sil MS nelle condizioni qui descritte sono stati ottenuti risultati eccellenti per un\u2019ampia gamma di semivolatili a livelli di concentrazione molto bassi (1 ng on-column in modalit\u00e0 scan e 200 pg on\u2011column in modalit\u00e0 SIM), consentendo ai laboratori di operare con sicurezza nella parte pi\u00f9 bassa dei limiti di rilevazione della
