Le analisi di routine vengono spesso eseguite in GC-MS, consentendo ai laboratori di aumentare la produttivit\u00e0 e ridurre il costo per campione consolidando i metodi di screening GC-MS per PAH e PCB. Nell\u2019analisi simultanea di questi due gruppi di contaminanti, per separare i PCB 28\/31 si utilizza spesso una colonna di tipo \u201cXLB\u201d. Tuttavia, ci\u00f2 comporta lo svantaggio che alcune separazioni dei PAH risultano meno efficaci. Una colonna di tipo \u201c5\u201d offre una selettivit\u00e0 alternativa, rendendola una fase adatta al consolidamento del metodo. Il metodo GC-MS rapido per PAH e PCB illustrato in questa sede pu\u00f2 aiutare i laboratori a operare in modo pi\u00f9 efficiente, offrendo un\u2019eccellente cromatografia per l\u2019analisi concomitante delle due classi di inquinanti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questo metodo \u00e8 stato sviluppato su una colonna RMX-5Sil MS, combinando la selettivit\u00e0 standard \u201c5sil\u201d con una deattivazione TriMax di nuova generazione, che crea un percorso di flusso del campione altamente inerte. La Figura 1 dimostra che, nell\u2019arco di un\u2019analisi rapida di &lt;20 minuti, i PAH e i PCB target hanno mostrato un\u2019eccellente forma dei picchi e ottime separazioni. Per esempio, mentre benz[a]antracene, crisene e PCB 180 normalmente eluiscono come tre picchi ravvicinati, sulla colonna RMX-5Sil MS \u00e8 stata ottenuta una risoluzione USP a linea di base (\u2265 1,5). Per valutare quanto fossero costanti le prestazioni della colonna rispetto a parametri chiave, sono state effettuate 100 iniezioni con 1 ng on-column e i risultati sono stati estremamente stabili, con deviazione standard relativa percentuale (%RSD) della coda compresa tra 3,9 e 6,6% e %RSD del tempo di ritenzione tra 0,01 e 0,02%.
