FAQ

Can I use acidified organic solvents?

30 Jul 2025

Yes. Acetonitrile with 0.1–1% formic acid is often used to improve protein precipitation because it disrupts binding between the protein and the protein-bound analytes. Acidified acetonitrile is also widely used in LC-MS/MS analysis with an electron spray ionization (ESI) source.
