We serve customers all over the state, all over the country, all over the world. We do pretty much everything that is environmental or environmental adjacent. We&#8217;ve kind of made our name for ourselves over the years in emerging contaminants. So we do a lot of stuff that other labs don&#8217;t do, don&#8217;t have the capabilities to do, or don&#8217;t want to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EPA ban is going to be a difficult challenge for the industry as a whole. All of these methods, especially the legacy methods, all depend and actually require the use of methylene chloride. Problem is, now we can&#8217;t use it anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So before switching to the RMX column, we were using the traditional 5% MS columns. They did work well, but some of the issues that we had is that we couldn&#8217;t see as low as we wanted to. With the new DCM ban, we need to see a lot lower because we&#8217;re extracting a lot lower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve been working with Restek for a long time. Restek is a great company, great reputation. And when we heard that Restek had this new column coming out, we figured it&#8217;d be a great opportunity to really push this and kind of hit the goals that we&#8217;ve been looking to hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This has been an excellent relationship, especially in this new technology that is a developing process. We were able to get some feedback and say, hey, this works, this could be better, this was cool, this was less cool, and have those data points being taken into consideration. Cutting those detection limits down by 10, 100, even 1,000, we&#8217;re able to extract way less sample, which has the added benefit of we&#8217;re using much less methylene chloride. Now, we keep the systems cleaner, we have more uptime, more robustness on everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We work with different municipalities and different water companies providing data for them to test their water since they go to consumption or they go to the public. So it&#8217;s essential for us to provide the most accurate data for them. So having a good peak shape for us is essential because it determines whether a peak is there or not, a contamination there is or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve had this column running for six months, going on seven months now, and I don&#8217;t have a need to remove it or to replace it. We ran over 4000 samples and it&#8217;s still kicking. But I didn&#8217;t expect this column or any column to last that long with the level of abuse that we put on this column. So they&#8217;ll load up on Friday night, run all through the weekend. Monday morning, the chemist comes in, quants everything, processes the data. Everything&#8217;s good. Now we have a fresh system that can run other stuff on Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RMX columns change the way we function as a lab. It creates a lot of efficiency and a lot of comfort in the data. I would definitely recommend the RMX column. I mean, it&#8217;s worked for me. This is something, a column that we&#8217;re going to adopt, and we have adopted in our workflow, and I would definitely recommend this.
